ESD 123's Regional School Safety Center works in collaboration with community school safety stakeholders to support the efforts of local districts. Encompassing the areas of
Behavioral Health and
Threat Assessment, the Safety Center is focused on bringing best practices in school safety to each student in each school across southeast Washington. We offer required training for the mandates within House Bill 1216, as well as other professional development, support, and technical assistance for your school safety needs. - DOH Safety Study Hall - a place for schools, students, and families to learn about safety topics.
- Echoes of Columbine - 30 minute documentary that chronicles the evolution of targeted school attacks since 1999

- Stop the Bleed - How to save lives with severe bleeding before help arrives
- Take It Down - Resources and support to help remove online nude, partially nude or sexually explicit photos taken before you were 18.
- The Great Washington Shake Out: Stop!, Cover!, Hold On! - This is a state-wide drill held annually. This year it will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020. All are encouraged to participate. It counts as a ‘Shelter in Place’ drill for schools.
- The Path To Violence (PBS) - Psychologists, working with law enforcement officers, have devised tools to help prevent violent attacks. "The Path To Violence" details a powerfully effective Secret Service program, the Safe Schools Initiative, that has helped schools detect problem behaviors.
- Until Help Arrives, FEMA - Basic steps on what to do in an emergency until help arrives
- Washington Air Quality Guide for School & Child Care Activities - Provides recommendations from WA Department of Health to protect children from wildfire smoke during school activities.
