The Attendance and Engagement program aims to help schools reconnect youth and families who have disconnected from education and prevent youth who are at-risk of disengaging through attendance and engagement systems that will keep students engaged long term.
In 2023, 30% of students served in the ESD 123 region were chronically absent. These students who are chronically absent are disproportionately from vulnerable populations. Through the work of the ESSER Attendance and Re-Engagement project, we learned Tiered Support for Attendance significantly improves attendance systems that support both regular attendance and support for students. Through the following services, Attendance and Engagement can help schools to ensure all students are supported through a tiered systems of support.
