Supporting Our Districts and Communities During Closures

As our nation works combat the spread of COVID-19, ESD 123 is joining our state's schools in finding innovative ways to continue services and supports.  The ESD 123 campus is closed to the public; however, many ESD employees are working remotely and are available by phone, email, and/or Zoom between 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

21st Century Community Learning Centers

All Washington K-12 public schools are currently closed, which means our 21st Century sites and centers will also be closed to students and staff during this time. We are awaiting further guidance from OSPI and the governor on summer operating status. Site Coordinators are available remotely via email and or phone to support current students and families.

ECEAP Preschool

All ESD 123 ECEAP Preschool sites are providing modified services until schools resume. Alternative programming is being provided to families we serve through their home settings. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your designated Family Support Specialist.

NOTE: The sub-contracted ECEAP sites at the Carrusel Childcare Center and Kennewick Bilingual Center are currently open and holding class on-site.

Migrant Education Program

The office is currently closed, but Migrant Education Program staff are available via phone and email to provide any technical assistance, trainings online, and more. The ESD 123 MEP program is working with the statewide network to develop and offer several trainings. Courses can be found on PD Enroller. Prevention/Intervention & Mental Health

The ESD's Student Support department is currently exploring options to continue providing one-on-one supports to students in need (such as telehealth platforms), while still complying with confidentiality guidelines. Prevention/Intervention staff continue to build a library of resources for parents, students, and school staff. Room Reservations

Throughout the duration of the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” directive, ESD 123 facilities will remain closed to the public. If you are interested in reserving a meeting space for a future date, please contact Jess Howard at [email protected] or 509-544-5733.

TC Futures

The TC Futures Center is currently closed, but our Case Managers are still working hard to support all of their students' needs. We will continue to provide information and support through Facebook and our website at www.tcfutures.org. The Center plans to reopen to the public by April 27th. Birth-to-3 Early Intervention

All early intervention services are being provided virtually. Primary Service Providers are supporting families to access virtual services and other resources so that they may continue helping their child. Fingerprinting Services

Fingerprinting services through ESD 123 are suspended, with the expectation to resume once Franklin County receives approval to move into Phase 2 of Washington's Reopening Plan. Email [email protected] to schedule a future fingerprinting appointment..

Migrant Consortium

Limited services are being provided to migratory families and children, including communication with families via phone, delivery of materials, and checking out technology equipment. Full services are expected to resume when schools are back in session. Professional Development

ESD 123 has transitioned nearly all professional development offerings to virtual trainings via Zoom or other online platforms.  Any events that cannot be offered virtually may be cancelled or postponed and communicated accordingly.

OSPI is working closely with the nine ESDs to develop content-specific online learning for educators during the Long-Term School Closures (LTSC). We encourage you to browse the PD Enroller catalog using the search term “LTSC” to find numerous PD offerings covering multiple subjects, FREE of charge! Special Education

Our Special Services Department continues to support school districts and students during the statewide school closures. Services are provided primarily through non-instructional supports, with some direct student supports. We are partnering with consortium school districts in the region to creatively offer related services for eligible students until further guidance from the state. School Safety Center

Currently, school districts can access the mandatory “Incident Command System” training online for free. This extended closure provides an opportunity for districts to train staff. For more information, contact Shelby Jensen, Safety Center Coordinator, at [email protected] or 509-316-6774.

Threat Assessment

In order to assist schools in training their staff during school closures, ESD 123 will be providing Threat Assessment Level 1 trainings via Zoom format.
