Professional Development for Arts-Related Teachers

ESD 123's Teaching and Learning Department is pleased to be hosting FREE Professional Development for Arts-Related Teachers, titled Managing Classroom-Based Performance Assessments. These workshops are scheduled for November 17, 2009 in Walla Walla, WA and on December 8, 2009 at the ESD 123 in Pasco.
Justice

Workshop attendees will participate in selecting, implementing, analyzing and scoring classroom-based performance assessments (CBPA's). The CBPA's will individually measure what we want all students to know and be able to do at benchmark levels of grades 5, 8, and 10.

Youth and Justice Forum

Educational Service District 123, in collaboration with the Washington State Minority and Justice Commission, the Washington State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (WYLD), Columbia Basin College Office of Diversity, Gonzaga University School of Law and the University of Washington School of Law, will host a Youth and Justice Forum on November 6, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Columbia Basin College Byron Gjerde Multipurpose Facility.

The seventh annual event will give up to 150 local 8^th-12^th grade students the opportunity to learn about the justice system and career opportunities in the legal profession directly from practicing professionals.
