Kamiakin High School Student Wins Regional Poetry Recitation Competition
On February 5, 2014, Educational Service District 123 hosted the Southeastern Washington Regional Final of the Poetry Out Loud Competition at the Richland Public Library. High school students from Southeastern Washington recited, from memory, two poems by famous poets. The best recitation took home first place. This winner will go to the state final, working for a spot at the national championship. In 2013, the winner of the national championship was from Mead High School in Spokane.
