Suicide Prevention / Mental Health

As children grow into teenagers, it becomes more challenging for parents to know what they are thinking and feeling. When do the normal ups and downs of adolescence become sufficient to worry about?

Your school’s counselor or family physician is a first step to access a list of community mental health resources to further evaluate your child’s unique situation. If your child is depressed or thinking about suicide, you are not alone; there is help and hope for healing.

The ESD 123 Student Support Services department offers suicide prevention and youth mental health first aid trainings. For more information, contact Director of Student Support Dana Camarena at 509.544.5762 or dcamarena@esd123.org.
