ESD-U is Coming to Our Region!

The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) has authorized ESD 112 to provide alternative route certification through ESD-U.  In partnership with ESD 123, ESD-U is expanding services to district partners in Southeast Washington.

What is ESD-U?

Using a “grow your own” focus, ESD-U is a residency-based, flexible program that offers a Route 2, 3, or 4 alternative route to certification for currently employed classified and emergency substitute instructional employees. The next cohort for ESD-U will begin in the summer of 2019. If you are interested in learning more about the ESD-U program or in applying as a candidate, please sign up to attend one of our informational sessions (dates TBD) by contacting Mary Kirby at mkirby@esd123.org or 509.544.5757.

  • English Language Learners/Elementary Education (pending)*

*Please note that as of 2019-2020, ELL and SPED residency certificates must be a dual endorsement with another area of certification. In future years, we may offer additional endorsement areas based on district partner requests.
