Balance Program

The purpose of the ESD 123 Balance Program is to foster a culture of wellness by creating opportunities for all staff to learn, engage, and live a healthy lifestyle, as well as improve their work-life balance as “One Team.”

Earn a Well Day off by: 

  • Attending at least three of five+ "wellness qualifying events"* offered by the Balance Program througout the year,
  • AND completing at least 500 activity points:
    •  5 points per 30 mins of physical exercise a day up to 10 points each day, 
    •  10 points per event when engaging in Balance Program social activities and community activities, either by participation or by volunteering. 

*This year, the Balance Program will offer social activities and a limited number of "wellness qualifying events."  Only the "wellness qualifying events" count toward your three required for the Well Day off as they meet the following criteria:  

  1. Opportunity for community connection and/or physical health and/or mental health enrichment.  
  2. Learning targets, which mean to answer the question, "What will I get out of this?"

Find "wellness qualifying events" for the upcoming year on the Balance Program Calendar.  Watch for more events to be added as well as Balance Program activities and community activities by reading the Balance Program News in the ESD 123 internal newsletter, ESD Connected
Download and print the 2023-2024 Balance Program Calendar.
  • Track your time each month and write the totals in the table on the calendar page. 
  • Indicate which wellness qualifying events you have attended. Your attendance needs to be confirmed by completing a form after each event. 
  • Return your signed calendar to HR for final approval. (Note: You must maintain acceptable attendance to be eligible for a Well Day off.) 
  • Please be sure to use your Well Day off before August 31.
