3 ways to keep your loved ones safe!
- LOCK up your cannabis products and prescription medications, out of sight and out of reach of children.
- WA Poison Control Center saw an increased by 44% of cannabis exposures since 2019. Almost half of those exposures were edibles.

- MONITOR your cannabis products and prescription medications.
- Look for the “Not for Children Sticker” on edible cannabis products. Edible recreational cannabis may easily be mistaken for candy by both children and elderly adults.
- Count medications and cannabis products to know exactly how many you have in case any go missing.
- Prescription medications should be taken as directed following all labels and information by the medical provider.
- Prescription medications, including cannabis, are only for you as prescribed and should never be shared!
- DISPOSE of unused/expired prescription medications immediately and properly in person or by mail at a designated location.
- Flushing medications down the toilet or disposing in the trash is dangerous.
- Find a local medication disposal site at med-project.org
- Many local police stations also accept unused/expired medications.

Call the Washington Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222 for free and confidential expert poison information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We advise that you program the Poison Center number in your phone for easy access. The WAPC is confidential, available in multiple languages, and staffed by expert professionals.
