This is the image for the news article titled Congratulations, Opportunity Kitchen Grads!Students at Candy Mountain Academy (CMA) have been enjoying amazing daily breakfasts and lunches from the Opportunity Kitchen. The Opportunity Kitchen, a service of Columbia Industries, trains people with disabilities to be ready to work in a culinary setting. Every 12 weeks, they graduate a class of three students that develop skills in food service, catering, and hospitality, as well as independence and life skills.

The Candy Mountain Academy, housed in the Richland CBC building near the Opportunity Kitchen’s base in the Richland Federal Building, has appreciated the opportunity for this great partnership—and great food—with instructor Chef Derek and the most recent class of chefs-in-training, Shelby, Deborah, and Evan.

“They provide Candy Mountain Academy with the best school lunches in the country, easy,” says Chuck Fleming, Candy Mountain Academy Director.

CMA staff held a celebration last week for these incredible chefs in honor of their graduation from the program on Thursday, October 27th.
