ESD-U is Coming to Our Region!
The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) has authorized ESD 112 to provide alternative route certification through ESD-U. In partnership with ESD 123, ESD-U is expanding services to district partners in Southeast Washington.
ALL ESD-U classes will be held in Pasco or Walla Walla, depending on enrollment.
What is ESD-U?
Using a “grow your own” focus,
ESD-U is a residency-based, flexible program that offers a Route 2, 3, or 4 alternative route to certification for currently employed classified and emergency substitute instructional employees.
The next cohort for ESD-U will begin in the

ELL and SPED residency certificates must be a dual endorsement with another area of certification. In future years, we may offer additional endorsement areas based on district partner requests.
