This is the image for the news article titled Monthly Migrant Book ServiceESD 123's Migrant Consortium team has come together to provide a monthly book service for 3-5 year old students in Finley, Burbank, College Place and Prescott School Districts. Each month, students will receive a book along with educational tips and resources for their parents to use to help their child grow.

Throughout the 2020 summer, the Migrant team coordinated educational kit drop offs for the 3-5 year old students, focusing on learning ABC’s, colors, shapes and numbers.

"We received such positive feedback from the families," says Viviana Magallon, Migrant Student & Family Advocate. "We wanted to continue the service throughout the year to reinforce continued learning for this particular demographic during the COVID pandemic."

The goal for the Migrant Consortium's early learners is to prepare them for Kindergarten with the necessary tools needed to be successful in their education and to create a head start in their learning process.

Throughout the COVID closures and changing learning models, ESD 123's Migrant program staff have continued to serve students and families throughout the region. From ongoing parent trainings and virtual support, to delivery of COVID health kits, our team is dedicated to assuring students and families receive the resources and support needed. More information about ESD 123's Migrant program, services, and contacts can be found on their webpage HERE.
