VTel Troubleshooting

Check these conditions:

  1. The cameras are properly configured
  2. The monitor is receiving AC power and is turned on. (Use the remote control or power switch on the monitor)
  3. The PC power switch is on and the system AC power cable is firmly seated in an electrical outlet.
  4. Verify (or adjust) the monitor video source select. To select S-Video or Video 1, use either the monitor's remote control or the "TV/VIDEO" switch on the monitor to cycle through the sources, selecting either S Video or Video 1.
  5. The lens cover is not on the camera
  6. The camera is pointed at something other than a blank wall
  7. The camera's iris is open wide enough
  8. Monitor PIP (picture-in-picture) is turned off. (Use the monitor's remote control and monitor instructions)
  9. The montior S-video cable is firmly seated at both the monitor and the expansion chassis
  10. If there is still no video on the monitor, connect another monitor and cable to determine of the monitor or cable is defective
  11. Check the power LED on the expansion chassis is lit, indicating that the unit is receiving power
  12. Check all cables are firmly seated in the expansion chassis and the PC
  13. If the camera is a Canon™ camera, make sure the camera is not in sleep mode. (Press the Operate button on the camera remote control.)
  14. Local-monitor picture quality is bad

Check these conditions:

  1. Using the monitor's remote control, adjust the moitor video parameters. The best results are often achieved by setting the video parameters as follows for the S-Video/Video 1 channel.
  2. Check to ensure that the S-Video cable is firmly seated at both the monitor and expansion box ends.
  3. No local-camera video or poor quality camera video (but PC video is good)
