Instructional Resource Center Electronic Resources

As some of you may have noticed, in September our contract with Learn360 ended, resulting in staff not being able to access Learn360 streamed resources.   We here at the Educational Service District 123 worked over the summer to find a way to continue the Instructional Resource Center after we received word that our three largest districts were not participating this year.  We regret to inform you that we were unable to achieve the numbers needed to continue to offer the digital subscriptions you received in the past.  Because of this the IRC will no longer continue to operate.  It has been over 40 years of service to school districts but with the changing technology and reduction in membership we are unable to provide you a cost effective and supportable solution.
Through a contract with the State Library System and the nine ESDs, we will continue to offer the ProQuest suite at a price of $.20+tax per student enrollment.  An invoice will be mailed out to your districts based on the May 2011 student enrollment.  If you choose not to continue to receive ProQuest please contact me.
Moving forward with your options for Learn360 and World Book, please contact the following people directly.
  • Learn360, contact Steve Finch  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Upon your contact he will reactivate your subscription until the end of the month to give you time to arrange payment.
  • World Book, contact John Ybarra at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to arrange World Book subscriptions. This resource will expires September 11, 2011.
I apologize for the late notice and abrupt ending to an era of ESD support to teachers and students in the area of instructional resources.  We appreciate the support of all the schools and the IRC advisory committee members.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me,
Thank you,

John Kelly
