History

In 2007 the Legislature approved SHB 1128 which provides funding to each of the nine Educational Service Districts for a Regional Mathematics Coordinator. The Coordinators were charged with providing regional professional development activities related to mathematics curriculum and instruction.

Our Work

  • Build regional leadership capacity around the area of mathematics education.
  • Create a network of regional partnerships among educators and community leaders to leverage resources.
  • Support math education within our region.

First Steps in Mathematics: Number Teacher Course 

Three day course focuses on helping teachers make effectrive use of the Number materials in their own classrooms.  There will be time for discussion and exploration of crucial aspects of the Key Mathematical Understandings outlined in each resource book as well as explore the Diagnostic Map and Diagnostic Tasks used to identify students' misconceptions about mathematics.

The ESD Regional Mathematics Coordinators have created flowcharts that outlines the graduation and testing requirements for mathematics.  I am available to present and answer questions regarding these changes to your building and/or district.  Please contact me with any questions!
