Hard times require us all to make hard decisions. The “one-size-fits-all” requirement of the 180-day school year no longer works for all districts. The current state fiscal crisis has put schools across the state in the same fight -- we are not only fighting to survive and maintain our identities, but we are fighting to continue to provide our children with quality educational programs and enriching educational experiences. We are all being asked to provide more services with less funding. The Paterson School District has been a participant of the pilot for HB1292 Waiver for Economy and Efficiency since January of the 2009-2010 school year. Students at Paterson attend school 146 days, Monday through Thursday, with the instructional day beginning at 8:15 AM and ending at 3:40 PM.
