Pasco High Teacher Named Regional Teacher of the Year

What do a life‐size hovercraft, rockets, flaming Doritos, ice cream, root beer, and rap songs about platetectonics all have in common? They are among the many innovative teaching tools used daily by PascoHigh School Science Teacher John Kerr who was named Educational Service District 123 [Regional] Teacher of theYear at a ceremony on August 27.

The bilingual Pasco High School science teacher is one of nine teachers who will now advance to theWashington State 2011 Teacher of the Year competition. That award will be presented on September 27 at a ceremony in Seattle.

The Washington State Becca Task Force will present their 2010 Statewide Becca Conference on October 14 and 15 at the Pasco Red Lion beginning at 9:30 AM. The mission of the Becca Task Force is to help keep kids in school and out of the juvenile justice system.
