This is the image for the news article titled Soluciones SuccessOver 500 people came to the Tri-Cities from across the country for the three-day Soluciones conference hosted in partnership between ESD 123 and Solution Tree. Held June 19-21 at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, Soluciones empowered school leaders, teachers, and community members to provide support and overcome learning gaps for Hispanic, Latino, and English Learner (EL) populations.

Led by renowned speakers Dr. Luis F. Cruz, Dr. Sharroky Hollie, and Dr. Hector Montenegro, topics of discussion ranged from school leadership, culturally responsiveness, Funds of Knowledge and Parental Engagement, Teaching Practices, and Social Emotional Learning to increase achievement. Not only did participants learn about theory and best practices, they also had opportunities to take that knowledge and tools to develop a plan to better serve our Hispanic and EL students, as well as encourage parent engagement in schools.

“The three days of the conference were filled with tons of energy, collaboration, networking, and lots of learning,” says Lupe Mota, ESD 123 Migrant Program Administrator.

The conference ended in a conga line with a variety of Hispanic and Latino inspired music, leaving participants feeling energized and excited about their experience before taking the information back to their school community.

Wish you could have been there or want to attend again? Soluciones will return to the Tri-Cities next summer! ESD 123 has an agreement with Solution Tree to provide the workshop again on August 5-7, 2020.
